Four members of Wayne State University’s women’s swimming and diving team have earned Academic All-District honors. They were recognized by College Sports Communicators (CSC), previously known as CoSIDA, for their dual achievements in sports and academics.

The honorees are Evie Dice, a graduate student from Waterford, Michigan, Sabine Branford, a senior from Plymouth, Michigan, and juniors Elly Belmore from St. Clair Shores, Michigan, and Diana Muccioli from Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan.

Evie Dice participated in all ten swim meets this season and has appeared in 38 regular-season meets throughout her college career. She received several All-GLIAC honors and has excelled academically, holding a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science and is currently pursuing a master’s. “Academically, Dice earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science in August of 2024 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Exercise & Sport Science,” according to the release.

Sabine Branford competed in nine meets, earning four All-GLIAC honors in seven events. She majors in Mechanical Engineering, consistently making it to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll with a term GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Elly Belmore was active in all events this season, achieving Second Team All-American honors. She majors in Exercise and Sport Science and has maintained high academic standards over five semesters.

Diana Muccioli also competed in all of the team’s meets this year, with strong performances particularly in the finals of several events. A Design major, Muccioli consistently meets high academic criteria, achieving Athletic Director’s Honor Roll status every semester.

The CSC Academic All-District honors acknowledge “the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom.” The student-athletes named will now be considered for CSC Academic All-America honors, with the winners to be announced in late April.
