Wayne State University’s women’s tennis student-athlete Malak Arafat has been recognized as the GLIAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, as confirmed by the league office.

Arafat contributed to the Wayne State women’s tennis team’s success with two wins over the weekend. Against Davenport University, she achieved victory in singles with scores of 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 and, in doubles, scored 6-2 alongside her partner Justine Beaulieu. Facing Grand Valley State University, Arafat added two more wins, prevailing in singles with 6-3, 6-7 (3-7), 6-2, and winning 6-3 in doubles.

The Wayne State women’s tennis team is scheduled to travel to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for upcoming matches against Lake Superior State University on April 4 and Michigan Tech University on April 5, as they aim to maintain their perfect record in GLIAC play.
