Diana Muccioli, a senior from Grosse Pointe Woods representing the Wayne State University women’s swimming and diving team, finished 28th in the 500-yard freestyle during Friday morning’s session of the NCAA Championships on March 13. Muccioli recorded a time of 5:05.15 but did not advance to the finals scheduled for later that evening.
The event is part of a five-day national competition for collegiate swimmers and divers. Saturday will mark the final day, with preliminary races beginning at 10 a.m.
Wayne State Warriors Women’s Swimming and Diving competes in NCAA Division II events, according to the official university athletics website. The team is also a member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, as reported by the same source.
The program participates in collegiate athletics at the NCAA Division II level and operates out of Detroit, Michigan, according to information provided by the official university athletics website.
