Wayne County Health Department issued the following announcement on April 21.
COVID-19 is a disease unlike anything any of us have experienced, and it is having a disproportionately devastating impact on the Black community. Wayne County is the most diverse county in the state of Michigan, and Detroit has a population that is more than 80 percent African American.
It's time to talk about COVID-19 and what it means for the Black community in Wayne County. Please tune in on Thursday at 3 p.m. for what will be a very informative and stimulating panel discussion to examine this issue from a variety of perspectives.
