PLYMOUTH-CANTON COMMUNITY SCHOOLS: Tonda - Material Distribution Process

Plcc

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools issued the following announcement.

As we continue learning in the virtual environment, it is important for us to provide an opportunity to collect additional materials that will support your child’s learning when we return from the break.  As such, on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, families will be able to do just that.  I do want to, however, provide some specific guidance to make this process as smooth and as safe as possible.  As such, we have a scheduled time for families from each grade level to drive through and pick up their child’s materials.

Car Loop - Material Distribution Process

For the health and safety of all, families will need to drive to the school and remain in their cars during the entire process. We ask that families do not walk, bike, or use another mode of transportation. If this presents a specific challenge, please contact me directly to make alternative arrangements.

At the assigned time, please enter off of Warren Road and stay to the right, entering the arrival/dismissal loop on the West side of the building. A staff member will greet you outside to collect your student’s name and teacher name.  If possible, having a written sign on the passenger side window with this information would be helpful.  That staff member will use a walkie-talkie to communicate this information to another staff member indoors who will collect the appropriate packet(s) and bring it/them out to your vehicle.

Please remain in line the entire time to ensure an orderly and safe process.

Staff will be utilizing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as they collect the necessary materials and provide them to you.  To minimize contact, we ask that you remain in your vehicles at all times and ask that staff place the materials in your trunk if possible (preferred method) or in a vacant seat through an open window.

To ensure a smooth/efficient process and effective traffic control, we are staggering our collection times.  However, if you have more than one child attending Tonda, please plan on attending during your oldest child’s time slot. We will collect and distribute items accordingly for your entire family at that time so you only have to complete the process one time. The schedule will be as follows:

January 5, 2021 (10:00 AM - 1:00 PM)

Fifth Grade 10:00 AM

Fourth Grade 10:30 AM

Third Grade 11:00 PM

Second Grade 11:30 AM

First Grade 12:00 PM

Kindergarten 12:30 PM

Please remember there are lots of moving parts here and many individuals (staff, students, and parents) who are all trying to do their best. Please be sure to demonstrate patience and understanding as we work together.

If you have any specific questions or concerns regarding this process, please feel free to reach out to your child’s classroom teacher for clarification.

Stay SAFE, be KIND, and stay TONDA STRONG!
