City of Livonia issued the following announcement on July 27.
MDOT is closing the Six Mile Road bridge over I-275 for eight weeks starting Monday, Aug. 2. Drivers are urged to follow the detours.
I-275/Six Mile Road detours:
Northbound I-275 traffic heading for westbound Six Mile Road will use northbound I-275 to westbound Seven Mile Road, then southbound I-275 to westbound Six Mile Road. Southbound I-275 traffic heading for eastbound Six Mile Road will use southbound I-275 to eastbound Ann Arbor Road, then northbound I-275 to eastbound Six Mile Road.
Eastbound Six Mile Road will be detoured to northbound Haggerty Road, then eastbound Seven Mile Road to southbound Newburgh Road back to eastbound Six Mile Road.
Westbound Six Mile Road will be detoured to northbound Newburgh Road, then westbound Seven Mile Road to southbound Haggerty Road back to westbound Six Mile Road.
The Five Mile Road bridge construction has been postponed until February of 2022.
