Deputy Chief Brian Miller Retirement

Happy retirement

City of Westland recently issued the following announcement.

The City of Westland Police Department recognized and thanked Deputy Chief Brian Miller for his years of service as he moved into retirement. With his retirement, it gives new leadership opportunity for three veteran Officers to begin new roles. Officer Robert Schurig was be promoted to the rank of sergeant, Brian Humphrey to the rank of lieutenant and Richard Kummert to the rank of Deputy Chief. 

In addition, two new police officers were sworn into service, Officers Emily Key and Reed Zielinski. It was also a great time to introduce two police service aides who will soon begin the Police Academy as Westland Police Recruits, Mohammed Alzayadi and Jackson Allison. We thank Brian Miller, the new officers, the newly promoted staff and the entire Westland Police Department for your service and dedication to our community.
