Canton Public Safety Department issued the following announcement on Dec 24.

Canton Public Safety has been busy this holiday season giving back to the great community in which we serve. The police department partnered with Target for their annual Hero’s and Helpers event. Officers shopped for several families around the community to bring a bit more joy to their holiday season.

Canton Police participated in Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle Campaign, K9 Tino helped his fellow officers ring the bell for this great cause.

Officers and Police Explorers collected winter clothing and then handed out the winter clothing at Open Door Ministries.

Canton Fire Department and Canton Police Department teamed up with Canton Leisure Services to escort Santa around the community in their second annual “Santa is coming to Your town” event. Our first stop was Canton Place, Santa visited with our wonderful residents and sang Christmas carols with them.   It was great to see so many community members outside, smiling and enjoying the evenings of fun. Canton Public Safety would like to thank the community for your continued support and we wish everyone a safe and healthy holiday season.
