A Wayne County woman can now call herself a millionaire after winning $1.52 million in the state’s Lotto 47 Jackpot game.

“I play Lotto 47 often and I always buy my tickets online,” said the 34-year-old player. “I checked my email the day after the drawing and had a message notifying me that I won a prize. When I clicked on it and saw that I had won the jackpot, I was in complete shock!”

According to a news release, the fortunate player, who has chosen to not have her name released to the public, was able to match the winning Lotto 47 numbers drawn Dec. 18: 06-14-24-31-37-45 after buying her winning ticket online at MichiganLottery.com.

The woman recently went to the Lottery headquarters to receive her prize and chose a one-time lump sum payment prize of roughly $1 million rather than 30 yearly payments for the full amount, according to the news release.

She told lotto officials that she planned to buy a new home and car and save the remainder of the prize.

“Winning is a great feeling, but I’m still in shock. It doesn’t seem like this is really happening,” the woman said.

According to the news release, Each Lotto 47 play is only $1 and players pick six numbers from one to 47 for the ability to win a jackpot beginning at $1 million and that rises until someone wins it.

“For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Lotto 47 ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $1.5 million in the nightly Double Play drawing,” the press release stated. “For an additional $1 per game, players may add EZMatch to their ticket for a chance to win up to $500 instantly.”

Lotto 47 drawings happen on Wednesday and Saturday at 7:29 p.m., according to a news release.
