City of Westland issued the following announcement on Mar 3.
The Neighborhood Grant Program was established by the Westland City Council to encourage residents to work collaboratively to foster a sense of community and actively participate in making improvements to their neighborhoods.
A maximum of up to $500 per neighborhood grant can be awarded for projects/events that support community involvement and reflect positively on the entire City.
Examples: The types of projects or events can include:
Community Art Programs
Community Events - e.g., neighborhood parties (Eligible only once), parades
Public space landscaping/beautification
Stewardship of neighborhood parks and common spaces
Youth programs - (e.g. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Westland Youth Athletic Association, etc.)
Applications:
Complete an online application or pick on up in person at the City Clerk's office at Westland City Hall.
The application deadline is April 1, 2022, and funds must be spent and documented by June 30, 2022. Some restrictions apply.
All applications will be evaluated after the due date. Preference will be given to first time applicants. Eligible only once.
