CHARGED: Jonathan Welch, 23, is facing several charges of sexual assault and torture.
Welch allegedly sexually assaulted his 22-year-old girlfriend on June 2, 2022, in the 13000 block of Kilboune Ave., and attempted to burn her arms and legs. The victim was able to run to a neighbor’s house where she sought shelter.
The defendant is charged with torture, home invasion first degree, harmful device- use/possession causing injury, criminal sexual conduct third degree, assault with intent to commit sexual penetration, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, and three counts of felonious assault.
The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
