The Buildings, Safety Engineering & Environmental Department are providing us with six safety tips to use in case of a flood.
• Clean the brush and debris from your flood drain.
• Store your important documents and valuables inside waterproof containers.
• Make sure you call (313) 224 - 3257 if your property is in a flood risk zone.
• Get a building permit before building in a flood plain.
• If the road is underwater, turn around!
• Make sure you ask your insurance if you are covered for flood damages.
We can protect ourselves, our families, and our homes during a flood.
