CHARGED
Ataveon Lewis is charged in a non-fatal double shooting in the 400 block of E. Fort Street on March 5, 2023.
Great work by our officers of Detroit Police Department Downtown Services Special Ops, the DPD 3rd Precinct and Gang Intel. Also, we want to thank our partners at Rock Security for their assistance in this investigation.
Lewis is charged with assault with the intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, weapons felony firearm and weapons violation.
During a fight, Lewis is alleged to have retrieved a gun from a vehicle and fired into a group, injuring two people before fleeing the scene.
Note that the charges are allegations, and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
