State of the City Highlights:

Mayor Mike Duggan and the Detroit City Council have worked together to protect affordable housing in our city. Announced last year, a $203 million plan will take major steps toward addressing housing insecurity in Detroit using several new strategies.

So far, 7,900 affordable housing units have been preserved with another 2,000 in progress. Over the last 12 weeks, there have been 12 completions or groundbreakings throughout the city including MLK on Second, Wilshire Apts., Lee Arden Apts., and the Savannah Apts.

To build and preserve an additional 600 units at 13 properties, the mayor will be seeking council support to commit another $31 million of ARPA funds.
