SHOTS FIRED AT OFFICERS
When: 03/08/2023; 4:45 p.m.
Where: 8900 block of W. McNichols
We're seeking assistance locating a suspect who fired shots at officers. While officers were conducting a traffic stop, the suspect drove by in a red Nissan Rouge. Officers observed a firearm in the male driver's left hand. When the vehicle turned north onto Kentucky from W. McNichols, shots were fired at the officers. The suspect then fled. There were no injuries.
The vehicle had an improper Michigan plate #ESP-0700.
"The officers showed incredible courage and great restraint," Chief James E. White said. "This is another example of how Detroit police officers put their lives on the line every day to protect the community."
