  • Address will be held Monday, Jan 30 at 7p.m. in CAYMC 13th Floor Auditorium
  • Residents have option to attend address in person or watch online
  • With city unemployment at 22-year low and economic activity strong, Mayor aims to help more unemployed Detroiters access good-paying jobs
Detroit At Work scholarships
Mayor Mike Duggan will deliver a special evening presentation Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. to take Detroiters step-by-step through the process of getting their share of the $100M in job training scholarships the City is offering. 

Among the programs the Mayor will feature are ones that pay Detroiters $10 per hour to learn basic math and reading skills, and/or to earn their high school diploma or GED.  The City also offers hybrid training where Detroiters can earn $15 per hour for three days of on-site work and 2 days of classroom training per week to earn a GED, Diploma or technical certifications. In all, the City offers 40 career path training programs in growth industries such as skilled trades, healthcare, information technology, trucking and logistics and more, through www.detroitatwork.com.

After his presentation, the Mayor and his team will take questions from those attending in person or virtually. This event also serves as the Mayor’s annual citywide Charter-Mandated community meeting.
