The City of Detroit Office of Contracting and Procurement (OCP) has announced its search for multiple vendors to provide structured, supervised program opportunities for Recreation Center members. This initiative is being carried out by the General Service Department and Parks and Recreation, with programs set to run during the 2024 calendar year on either a program session or drop-in outing basis.
The Parks and Recreation Department is specifically looking for vendors to offer a wide range of programs to cater to the diverse interests and needs of the community. These programs include exercise classes such as Zumba, Pilates, Cycling, Aerobics, Boot Camps, Yoga, Tai Chi, and Dance Classes. Additionally, they are seeking vendors who can provide youth educational classes encompassing STEAM programs, foreign language, ASL, ESL, and literacy programs. General enrichment classes like pottery, art classes, crochet, music lessons, nature-based programs, and drama programs are also in demand. The City is also interested in non-traditional sports programs like cricket, lacrosse, rugby, archery, badminton, rock climbing, figure skating, and disc golf. Furthermore, aquatic-based classes like canoeing, scuba, kayaking, swim lessons, and water polo are sought after. Lastly, the City hopes to offer senior classes including chair aerobics, water aerobics, and walking clubs.
Interested vendors are urged to submit their questions by January 12, 2024, at 3:00 pm EST. The deadline for proposal submission is January 29, 2024, at 3:00 pm EST. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for January 10, 2024, at 2:00 pm EST. The meeting will take place via Microsoft Teams, with the Meeting ID 260 772 570 917 and the Passcode GU2QGv.
To assist potential bidders, the City has provided a How to Respond to Bids document and a How to Respond to Bids video.
This opportunity to become a recreation program provider for the City of Detroit offers a chance for vendors to contribute to the community's health, education, and overall well-being. Interested parties are encouraged to review the requirements and submit their proposals in a timely manner.
As stated by the City of Detroit Office of Contracting and Procurement, "We are excited to partner with vendors who can provide diverse and engaging programs that cater to the interests of our Recreation Center members. This initiative will enhance the recreational opportunities available to residents of Detroit and contribute to their overall quality of life."
