City closings and trash collection schedule for Christmas, New Year’s holidays

Several City of Dearborn buildings will be closed on the following days in observance of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day:

Friday, Dec. 22Monday, Dec. 25Friday, Dec. 29Monday, Jan. 1, 2024

Trash and recycling collection is also affected.

Building HoursThe Dearborn Fire Department, Police Department, and Dispatch Center will continue to operate around the clock, everyday, for those in need.

The Dearborn Administrative Center (DAC), the 19th District Court, and all Dearborn Public Library branches will resume regular hours Tuesday, Dec. 26 - Thursday, Dec. 28 and on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

The Ford Community & Performing Arts Center and the Dearborn Ice Skating Center (DISC) will be closed Sunday, Dec. 24, Monday, Dec. 25 and Monday, Jan 1.

Dearborn Seniors Services, located inside The Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, will be closed between Friday, Dec. 22 and Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.

Trash and Recycling

Trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day beginning on Monday, Dec. 25. This means that residents with a Monday pickup will have their trash and recycling collected on Tuesday, Dec. 26. This pattern will continue throughout the week, with Friday’s trash pickup occurring on Saturday, Dec. 30.

Trash and recycling pickup will be delayed again on Monday, Jan. 1, New Year’s Day.

Trash and recycling will be collected Tuesday, Jan. 2 through Saturday, Jan. 6.

Residents with any questions about trash or recycling collection should call GFL at 844-233-8314.
