Livonia, MI - The City of Livonia has announced that several offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, January 15, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. According to the official statement, the closures will include the City offices, 16th District Court, Livonia Public Library, Greenmead Historical Park, and the Civic Park Senior Center.

In a recent press release, Livonia Mayor John Doe emphasized the importance of honoring Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy and the significance of this national holiday. "Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a time for reflection and remembrance of the remarkable contributions made by Dr. King to the civil rights movement," said Mayor Doe.

Residents of Livonia are advised that trash collection services will operate on the normal schedule during this time. However, it is crucial to ensure that trash is placed outside on the regularly scheduled collection day.

While most city facilities will remain closed, the Kirksey Recreation Center will be open to the public from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. on January 15. The center offers a variety of recreational activities and amenities for residents to enjoy on the holiday.
