For the first time, Dearborn voters can vote early in person ahead of the Michigan Presidential Primary Election.
Voters will continue to have the option to vote with an absentee ballot or in person at their designated polling place on Election Day, Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024.
However, effective this year, voters can instead vote early in person at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center before Election Day. As is standard with all presidential primary elections in Michigan, voters must request a Republican, Democratic, or non-partisan ballot in the upcoming election. Early voting begins Feb. 17, 2024As a result of the passage of Proposal 2 of 2022, the City of Dearborn will implement an early voting option for voters interested in casting their ballot in person ahead of Election Day. The Michigan Presidential Primary Election on Feb. 27, 2024, is the first time early voting will be available in a City of Dearborn election. Early voting will take place in the gymnasium of the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center beginning Saturday, Feb. 17, through Sunday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some services interrupted at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center during Early VotingAs a result of early voting, the gymnasium and elevated walking/jogging track at The Center will be unavailable for use between Friday, Feb. 16, and Monday, Feb. 26. Dearborn voters can cast an absentee ballot up to 8 p.m. on Election DayRegistered voters can request to cast their vote with an absentee (or absent voter) ballot in the Feb. 27 Presidential Primary Election. Voters can request an absentee ballot online at Michigan.gov/Vote or by submitting an Absentee Ballot Application by mail or in person to the Dearborn City Clerk’s Office.Absentee ballots and the application are both available in Arabic by request.Dearborn voters may also request an absentee ballot in person at the Dearborn City Clerk’s office through 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26.Please don’t delay. All completed absentee ballots must be signed and received by the Dearborn City Clerk’s Office or one of five secure City of Dearborn absentee ballot drop boxes by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27. Secure absentee ballot drop boxes are located throughout the city at the following locations:
- Dearborn Administrative Center parking lot, 16901 Michigan Ave.
- Hemlock Park, 13355 Hemlock Ave.
- Lapeer Park, 10000 Lapeer St.
- Crowley Park, 2600 Westwood St.
- Levagood Park, 801 N. Denwood St.
