The City of Detroit has announced the commencement of Phase 3 of road closures in preparation for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. The closure, set to begin on Monday, April 15, will impact the flow of traffic in the city, particularly along Jefferson Avenue in front of Hart Plaza. These closures are necessary to facilitate the build-out of the NFL Draft Experience presented by Rocket Mortgage, a fan festival scheduled to take place during the Draft.

According to the official announcement, the road closures for Phase 3 will be in effect from April 15 at 12 a.m. until May 6 at 5 a.m. Among the significant closures included in this phase are the shutdown of both Eastbound and Westbound Jefferson Avenue, as well as several other streets in the vicinity of Hart Plaza.

In light of the road closures, the city has issued important parking information to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and accessibility for emergency responders. Motorists are urged to adhere to parking restrictions to avoid any inconveniences, as improperly parked cars will be towed at the owners' expense.

As the excitement for the NFL Draft continues to build up, the NFL Draft Experience promises a range of immersive exhibits and activities for Detroit residents and visitors alike. Attendees can look forward to engaging with sponsor activations, taking photos with the Vince Lombardi Trophy, exploring the Play 60 Zone, shopping for exclusive merchandise at NFL Shop, and getting autographs from current NFL players and Legends at the Autograph Stage.

For those planning to attend the NFL Draft, the city has provided transportation updates to assist fans in navigating downtown Detroit during the event. Various transportation options, including the Detroit People Mover, QLINE, DDOT, RTA, SMART, Uber, and Lyft, are recommended for visitors to ensure smooth travel to and from the Draft venue.

The NFL Draft Experience is a free event that aims to engage football enthusiasts and create a memorable experience for all attendees. Updates on road closures and event details can be found on the NFL One Pass app, visitdetroit.com, and detroitmi.gov. Fans are encouraged to register on the NFL One Pass app in advance to secure their attendance at the NFL Draft.
