The City of Livonia Engineering Division has announced a project in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Transportation that aims to enhance accessibility in the area through the construction of a Multi-Use Non-Motorized Facility (MUNMF) in MDOT Right-of-Way. According to the City of Livonia Engineering Division, the project will involve the installation of a concrete pad, a 5-bike rack, and a monument sign to provide access to the trail.

Additionally, a 10-foot-wide ADA compliant sidewalk will connect the existing trail to the parking lot, along with designated accessible parking spaces. The City of Livonia Engineering Division has made the plans for this project available on their webpage for public review.

In a notice released by the City of Livonia Engineering Division, it was stated that comments regarding the project will be accepted until May 31, 2024. Those interested in providing feedback are encouraged to do so by emailing Assistant City Engineer David Lear at DLear@livonia.gov.

This initiative highlights the City of Livonia's commitment to improving accessibility and infrastructure for its residents.
