The Wayne State University cross country and track & field programs, led by head coach Grant Lofdahl, will host their Fifth Annual Run-A-Thon on Sunday, August 4.

Over the past four years, more than 120 student-athletes, coaches, and administrators have participated in the event, collectively running or biking over 2,000 miles. Last year's participants ran over 600 miles.

Since its inception, the event has raised more than $50,000. This summer's goal is to raise $20,000. Previous funds have been allocated for essential program needs such as uniforms, cross country camp expenses, and competition travel costs.

This year's proceeds will be used to purchase new Nike competition uniforms for both cross country squads as well as the indoor and outdoor track & field teams.

Unlike previous years where pledges were made per mile or minute, this year's format will involve making a direct gift to support the four programs.
