Wayne State University head men's tennis coach Bryan Morrow, entering his 17th season, has bolstered his lineup with the addition of two transfers. This move follows the announcement of four freshmen recruits and aims to replace a highly successful class that reached the national quarterfinals three consecutive years, including a national championship match appearance in 2022.

Luis Klaus from Brühl, Germany, will join WSU as a graduate student, while Ben King is transferring from Concordia-Ann Arbor. The incoming freshmen are George Day from Southampton, United Kingdom; Max Faniel from Theux, Belgium; Sam Knowles from North Shields, Tyne and Wear, England; and Tom Wasner from Hamburg, Germany.

"My coaching staff and I are all very excited for all of our incoming players," remarked Morrow. "We will have a very different team this year but the new players and coaches are looking forward to the challenges. Our four freshmen - George Day, Maxence Faniel, Tom Wasner and Sam Knowles - can't wait to begin their college journey. Ben King is looking to begin his sophomore year at WSU, while Luis Klaus will begin his journey at WSU as a graduate student."

Morrow expressed confidence in the new recruits' abilities both academically and athletically: "I feel that this recruiting class is very strong both in the classroom and on the court. We are all ready to GET TO WORK!!!!"

Ben King stands at 6-3 and weighs 170 pounds. He appeared in 13 matches for Concordia-Ann Arbor during the 2023-24 season with varying success across singles and doubles matches. A South Lyon East High School graduate in 2022, King was a four-year letterwinner under coach Craig Clark and served as team captain for two years.

Luis Klaus is 6-4 and weighs 186 pounds. He graduated from Archbishop's St. Ursula High School in Brühl, Germany in 2019. He plans to pursue an MBA at WSU.
