Wayne State men's golf prepares for Hillsdale's Get To Foundation Invitational

DETROIT -- Coming off a season-opening victory at SVSU's Al Watrous Invitational, the Wayne State University men's golf team is in action again this week. The Warriors will be competing in Hillsdale's Get To Foundation Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at The Cardinal at Saint John's in Plymouth, Mich.

"After a strong start last week, we're looking to continue that momentum with the Hillsdale invitational," said head coach Mike Horn. "We will be seeing a few teams that we haven't seen yet and it will be a big test to go 36 holes on Monday and 18 more on Tuesday. We had a good week of practice and I think we are ready to have a very good tournament, and keep the pedal to the metal! I think we're really ready to put a stamp on the season and will find out after Tuesday afternoon."

Andrew Daily (Brighton, Mich.) - R-Fr.

As mentioned above, on Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 7-8, Wayne State claimed first-place honors at Saginaw Valley State's Al Watrous Invitational to begin the 2024–25 season. The Warriors' "B" team finished atop the 14-squad leaderboard (573, -3), while the "A" group was right behind them as the runner-up (581, +5). Leppelmeier was the top Warrior finisher in second place for the 75-player field.
