The Wayne State University women's tennis team is set to compete in the Block E Invitational, hosted by Eastern Michigan University. The two-day tournament will commence on September 20 with two rounds of singles competition and one round of doubles. The event will conclude on September 21 with the final round of singles and two additional rounds of doubles.

Following a strong performance at the ITA Regional Championships, the Warriors aim to maintain their momentum. Last weekend, Malak Arafat (Alexandria, Egypt) and Martyna Szpakowska (Gdansk, Poland) triumphed over fellow Warriors Dea Gorgidze (Tbilisi, Georgia) and Anais Ruyssen (Nantes, France) to secure the Flight A doubles championship.

Wayne State is among six schools participating this weekend. They will be joined by Bowling Green, Findlay, Oakland, Youngstown State, and host Eastern Michigan. Matches will take place on Eastern Michigan's home courts at the Chippewa Club.

Wayne State will encounter familiar opponents from the 2023-24 season in Oakland and Findlay. WSU previously defeated Oakland in both an exhibition match (4-3) and a regular-season match (7-0). Against Findlay's Oilers, Wayne State emerged victorious with a score of 4-3.
