Wayne State cross country teams head to Louisville for upcoming competition

Wayne State University's men's and women's cross country teams are preparing to compete in the Live in Lou Classic on October 5. The event will take place at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky. After a three-week break, the men's team will begin with an eight-kilometer race at 9:30 AM, followed by the women's five-kilometer race at 10:15 AM.

The women's team has recently secured victories at both the Northwood Invitational and the Warrior Challenge. Reagan Justice from Canton, Michigan, led her team by finishing first in both events. Her teammates Emily Gordon from Northville, Michigan, and Taylor Hopkins from Sanford, Michigan, also performed well, securing top ten finishes.

The competition will feature approximately 100 teams from 21 states. Participants include athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III levels as well as those from the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics). The Louisville Sports Commission is hosting this event for the 23rd time.
