Wayne State University will host the Fencing Frenzy on October 27 at the Matthaei Center. This marks the first time since 2019 that the Warriors have organized this event.

The Fencing Frenzy aims to promote fencing and serve as a fundraiser for Wayne State's fencing programs. It will also be a collaborative event with participation from three varsity programs across different states. Joining Wayne State are members of the University of Detroit Mercy and Lawrence University fencing teams.

Michael Ramlow, head coach at Detroit Mercy, brings over two decades of experience in fencing as both a player and coach. He has previously been part of Wayne State's fencing team from 2008 to 2012 and competed in the NCAA Championships during his final year. Ramlow is also associated with the Renaissance Fencing Club.

Lawrence University's representation comes through Eric Momberg, who became head coach of their Vikings team in 2020. Momberg has international coaching experience and coordinates the 2-4-1 Fencing initiative, which offers simplified rules for kids to learn fencing affordably. He is a member of the USFCA Certification and Accreditation Board.

Wayne State's head coach Andy Tulleners brings 25 years of coaching experience across club, collegiate, and international levels. In recent years, he coached Jamaica's National Team at regional games and was appointed USFCA Collegiate Director in 2024.

The event promises engagement opportunities with coaches and athletes from various levels of international play. Attendees can expect multiple stations and demonstrations along with chances to purchase apparel from participating institutions.

The schedule includes training stations available throughout the event starting at 10:00 AM when doors open, followed by demonstrations for foil, epee, saber, and more until closing at 2:00 PM.

Tickets are available online along with donation options for both men's and women's programs.
