The Wayne State University women's cross country team secured the 11th position at the Lewis Crossover in Romeoville, Illinois. The Warriors faced competition from 35 teams, including five teams from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

Reagan Justice from Canton, Michigan, led the Wayne State runners by finishing seventh with a time of 21:13.72. Briana Vojinov followed, securing the 85th spot at 22:48.72. Emily Gordon finished closely behind in 88th place with a time of 22:49.53. Taylor Hopkins was next for Wayne State, placing 92nd with a time of 22:50.26. Mattie Drennan rounded out the top five for the team by finishing in 183rd place at 23:11.92.

Other finishers for Wayne State included Robin Bresolin in 138th place, Aubrey Migoski in 162nd, Emilee Rudlaff in 168th, Anna Gdowski in 191st, Annalee Misch in 215th, Sarah Greb in 240th, and Layla Martini in 303rd.

In addition to the main event, five Wayne State athletes participated in a six-kilometer open race. Remi Flanz finished in 31st place with a time of 25:09.03; Natalie Davies placed 36th; Rachel Felstow was positioned at 57th; Meagan Verellen came in at the 63rd spot; and Annalise Elliott concluded their participation with an 81st place finish.

Head Coach Grant Lofdahl commented on the team's performance: "The ladies did a good job of bouncing back from a tough race last week. We still aren't quite where we want to be, but this race was a step in the right direction for sure. Reagan Justice went out and battled some of the best runners in country, and her seventh-place finish was tremendous."

The Wayne State women's cross country team is set to compete again on Friday, October 18 at the SVSU Red October Meet.
