The Wayne State University softball program held its annual Home Run Derby on October 7 in Detroit, featuring a new format. This event provided financial support to the program, aiding with travel expenses and contributing to the cost of new uniforms and equipment.

The 2024 derby achieved record-breaking results, raising $10,471 and receiving 165 gifts. Sophomore Logan Forman secured the title of Home Run Queen by hitting six home runs during the competition. Freshman Elly Koopman was close behind as runner-up with four home runs, while several players tied for third place with two home runs each.

The team was split into three groups, each successfully raising over $3,300 through more than 50 gifts per group.
