The Wayne State University football team is preparing to host Ferris State in a home game this Saturday. This will be the first home match for the Warriors since September 21, following two away games at Truman State and Michigan Tech.

Ferris State, currently ranked fourth nationally, has maintained a strong presence in the AFCA Coaches Poll throughout the season. Under the guidance of head coach Tony Annese, now in his 12th year with the Bulldogs, Ferris State boasts a record of 127-21. The team has secured two Division II National Championships and three National Championship game appearances during Annese's tenure.

Junior quarterback Trinidad Chambliss leads Ferris State's offense, having thrown for over 1,000 yards and ten touchdowns this season. He has also been recognized as GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week twice. On the receiving end, Emari O'Brien stands out with 224 receiving yards.

Wayne State trails Ferris State in their all-time series but remains competitive with notable achievements such as forcing six fumbles in recent games. Quarterback Champion Edwards recently set a rushing record for WSU quarterbacks with 146 yards against Findlay.

Several players have made significant contributions this season including Myles McKatherine and Manny Harris who have each caught touchdown passes in recent games. Justin Hart led defensively with 11 tackles during his first collegiate start against Findlay.

Looking ahead, Wayne State faces a challenging schedule as they prepare to compete against teams like Grand Valley State and Indianapolis that are predicted to perform well this season.
