The Wayne State University women's outdoor track and field team wrapped up its three-day competition in California at the Azusa Pacific Bryan Clay Invitational. The event saw notable performances from several team members.

The 4x100m relay team, consisting of freshman Sasha-Gay Thompson, senior Mikaela Owen, sophomore Hanne Bastiaansen, and sophomore Avery Wilson, achieved a time of 47.20, securing the 25th position and marking the fourth-best time in school history.

Avery Wilson later participated in the 400m dash, finishing 70th with a time of 57.55. In the 100m dash, Hanne Bastiaansen placed 66th with a time of 12.335 and went on to finish 69th in the 200m dash with a time of 25.38.

Another highlight was the performance of WSU's 4x400m relay group comprising sophomore Elyse Miller, Avery Wilson, junior Renae Kutcha, and redshirt freshman Keneisha Thomas. They finished in the third-best time ever for their school with a time of 3:49.91, placing them in the 16th spot.

In individual races, redshirt senior Katherine Ray completed the Open C section of the 1,500m race in a time of 4:53.90 to place her at position number 164. Meanwhile, redshirt senior Thailyia Christensen clocked an impressive second-fastest school history time for WSU at 4:36.00 during her run in the Open B section for the same distance; she finished at position number 43. Junior Emily Gordon also competed in this section and secured position number110 with a completion time of 4:43.95.

On behalf of Wayne State University's men's team participating over these days' events - Ethan Pruzinsky completed his Saturday running segment within their open 'C' flight category covering five kilometers (5K) landing him position number fifty-eight (58), yielding results equivalent by timing metrics displayed accurately as fourteen minutes fifty-four seconds & fifteen milliseconds precisely recorded too!
