Wayne State University recently inducted Mickey Mohner into its Athletic Hall of Fame. Although Mohner could not attend the ceremony due to coaching commitments, his father represented him at the event.
Mohner's football career at Wayne State spanned from 2009 to 2012, during which he became the most successful quarterback in the school's history with 30 wins. He led the team to a national championship game in 2011 and set numerous records. By graduation, he held school records for pass attempts, completions, passing yards, touchdowns, and total offense.
His accolades include being named WSU's Offensive Rookie of the Year as a freshman and setting a school record for completion percentage in his sophomore year. In 2011, Mohner broke several single-season records while leading his team to the national championship game. As a graduate student in 2012, he achieved 44 consecutive starts and served as team captain.
Academically, Mohner was recognized multiple times on GLIAC All-Academic Teams and earned a spot on the Academic Honor Roll nine times. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Accounting in 2012 and later completed an MBA in 2016.
Currently residing in Painesville, Ohio with his family, Mohner serves as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Harvey High School.
