Wayne State University's baseball team concluded their season with a close game against Saginaw Valley State University. The match, held at Jackson Field in Lansing, Michigan, saw Wayne State trailing 8-3 by the eighth inning. However, a grand slam by Jacoby Dale and an RBI single from Drew Hill tied the game at 8-8.

The Cardinals took the lead initially with an RBI fielder's choice in the second inning. Tony Hatzigeorgiou responded for Wayne State with a solo home run in the third inning, his first since March of last year. Despite this effort, Saginaw Valley State regained control with three runs in their half of the third inning.

In the fourth inning, Wayne State narrowed the gap to 4-3 after Owen Tuccinardi's single brought in a run and another scored on a passed ball. Saginaw Valley extended their lead again in the seventh inning with four runs off doubles.

The ninth inning was pivotal for Wayne State as Mason McGuire initiated a rally with a walk followed by singles from Hatzigeorgiou and Logan Van Sicklen. This set up Dale's grand slam which tied the game. Kyle Ray's double later allowed Brady Blakita to score off Hill's hit.

After no scores in both teams' next innings, Hayden Jatczak secured victory for Saginaw Valley State with an RBI double in the bottom of the tenth.

Griffin Kilander pitched six and two-thirds innings for Wayne State but did not receive a decision after allowing eight runs on 11 hits. Macio Miller provided relief pitching three innings while giving up one unearned run.
