The Wayne State University football team achieved a significant victory by defeating Roosevelt University 38-14 at Tom Adams Field. This win marks the end of an 11-game losing streak for Wayne State, who now holds a record of 1-9 overall and 1-5 in the GLIAC. The game was notable as Wayne State had faced one of the toughest schedules in the nation, with their opponents having a combined winning percentage of .750.

A fumble recovery by Draven Wilson set up a short touchdown run by Sterling, Jr., and an interception by Carl Ware led to a 47-yard touchdown pass from Champion Edwards to Myles McKatherine. Despite Roosevelt's efforts to close the gap in the fourth quarter with a touchdown pass from Zach Zella to Cyrus Zuell, Wayne State secured their lead with another scoring drive finished by Sterling, Jr.

Wayne State dominated in total offense with 350 yards compared to Roosevelt's 189 yards. They also excelled in rushing yards, gaining 228 while limiting Roosevelt to just 33 yards on the ground.
