Wayne State University place-kicker Griffin Milovanski has been named the GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week. This marks the first time this season and the fourth time in his career that Milovanski has received this honor.
During Wayne State's 38-14 victory over Roosevelt, Milovanski set two new career records for the university. In the fourth quarter, he made his fifth PAT of the game, extending his streak to 66 consecutive PATs. This achievement surpassed Stefan Terleckyj's previous record of 65 set between 2011 and 2013. Shortly after, Milovanski broke another of Terleckyj's records by making his 40th career field goal with a successful 48-yard attempt. It was his fifth field goal from at least 40 yards this season.
Milovanski is currently 9-of-10 on field goals within 50 yards this year and has made a total of 16 career field goals from at least 40 yards. Additionally, he ranks third all-time among WSU kickers with a total of 209 career points. In the recent game against Roosevelt, he also recorded three touchbacks on seven kickoffs.
Milovanski is set to conclude his collegiate football career this Saturday when Wayne State hosts Northern Michigan for a game scheduled at Tom Adams Field.
