Wayne State University's women's basketball team is preparing for a split series, facing Hillsdale College on the road before returning home to compete against Tiffin University. The Warriors are looking to build on their recent victory over Northwood University.

The historical rivalry between Wayne State and Hillsdale stands evenly at 36 wins each since 1976. Their last encounter in December 2016 saw Wayne State narrowly secure a win. Against Tiffin, the Warriors hold a favorable record of 15-9, having won their last five matchups.

Hillsdale's current season record is balanced at two wins and two losses. Lauren McDonald leads the Chargers with an average of 15 points per game. Head coach Brianna Brennan, in her second year, has achieved a coaching record of 19-14.

Tiffin holds a slightly better season record of two wins and one loss. Key player Bree Allen scored 18 points in her season debut against Davenport University. Josh Mason, Tiffin's head coach, is in his third season with a career record of 14-45.

Taylor Thompson played a pivotal role in Wayne State's recent victory over Northwood by securing eight defensive rebounds and scoring crucial points early in the game. Her performance helped maintain the lead throughout the match.

McKenna Ferguson was another standout player against Northwood, scoring a game-high of 21 points and contributing significantly during critical moments to ensure the win for Wayne State.

Returning players Shea Tripp and Gabi Lutchka have been recognized for their contributions last season with All-GLIAC honors. Tripp was named to this year's GLIAC Women's Basketball Preseason First Team.

In addition to television broadcasts on FloSports for all home games and GLIAC contests, Wayne State will also offer audio coverage through WSUAthletics.com for away games.
