Wayne State University's men's and women's fencing programs have launched a fundraising campaign named the Championship Support Drive. The initiative aims to gather at least $30,000 for the 2024-25 season. These funds are intended to cover team equipment needs, meals, and travel expenses necessary for participation in both NCAA Regionals and Championships as the Warriors prepare for their 2025 post-season competitions.

The fundraising effort outlines specific costs associated with each item per player or per item, along with the overall financial goal:

- Team dinners are priced at $32 per fencer and $800 per meal, with a target of $4,000.

- Fencing blades that are FIE certified cost $150 each, aiming for a total of $4,500.

- Travel expenses for NCAA Championship events are estimated at $4,000 per trip, with an objective of raising $8,000.

- The goal for WSU branded competition equipment is set at $15,000.

Additional individual item costs include gloves/body cords ($75), shoes ($150), lame ($150), FIE masks ($300), FIE jackets ($300), FIE pants (knickers) ($250), and combined mask & jackets ($350).

The university encourages contributions by selecting "GIVE NOW" to support the fencing program's success.

A call to action invites supporters to participate in the Support Drive through a provided link.

Supporters are thanked for backing the 2024-2025 WSU Fencing Warriors as they aim for victory in both the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference (CCFC) and NCAA Championships.
