Four student-athletes from Wayne State University's volleyball team have been honored with Academic All-District recognition by College Sports Communicators (CSC). The athletes include junior Kayla Giroux, sophomore Kayla Dulgar, senior Molly Miller, and senior Ella Uganski.
Kayla Giroux has been recognized as an AVCA Second Team All-American. She holds a 3.98 GPA in Global Supply Chain Management and is a two-time Academic All-District honoree. Giroux aims to become the program's first-ever Academic All-American next month. Her performance this fall included a .404 hitting percentage, ranking ninth in program history.
Sophomore Kayla Dulgar continues to excel academically and athletically with a 3.91 GPA while double majoring in Criminal Justice and Psychology. She ranked fourth among GLIAC setters in assists this season and has moved up to seventh on WSU's career assists chart.
Molly Miller, with a 3.70 GPA in Sport Management, led her team in kills last season and ranked fifth in the GLIAC this year. Her defensive contributions included 196 digs, resulting in seven double-doubles for the season.
Ella Uganski maintains a 3.93 GPA as an Exercise & Sport Science major. In her final season, she achieved a .291 hitting percentage with significant contributions both offensively and defensively.
The CSC Academic All-District Volleyball teams recognize top student-athletes for their performances on the court and in academics across four divisions: NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA. Honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with results announced on January 14, 2025.
