Wayne State University's women's cross country team has achieved significant academic recognition. Six of its members have been named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic athletes. The honorees are Robin Bresolin, Mattie Drennan, Taylor Hopkins, Reagan Justice, Aubrey Migoski, and Briana Vojinov.
The team's cumulative GPA stands at 3.68, placing it tied-for-29th in Division II rankings.
Robin Bresolin, an Environmental Science major and redshirt junior, participated in six meets for Wayne State University (WSU). Her notable performances include a 13th place finish at the Warrior Challenge and a 30th place at the GLIAC Championships.
Mattie Drennan is a senior studying Exercise Science. She competed in six meets with her best result being an 18th place finish at the Northwood Invitational.
Taylor Hopkins is pursuing a Masters of Business Administration as a graduate student. She took part in six events for WSU, including achieving 24th place at the GLIAC Championship.
Reagan Justice was recognized as All-GLIAC, All-Region, and All-American after strong performances across various championships. She majors in Exercise Science and is noted for winning both the Northwood Invitational and Warrior Challenge.
Aubrey Migoski is currently studying Nursing as a junior. Her achievements include participating in six meets with finishes such as 15th place at the Northwood Invitational.
Briana Vojinov majors in Psychology and raced in five events for WSU. She earned All-Region honors following her performance at the NCAA Midwest Regional Race.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic distinction, athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and perform well in their regional championship meet among other criteria.
Head Coach Grant Lofdahl praised his team: "Our women's cross country team has been exceptional in the classroom for at least the past eight years... Special congratulations are in order for Mattie Drennan...and to Reagan Justice who was one of less than 30 women to earn All-American honors AND all-academic as well."
