In the third quarter, Wayne State's lead was challenged as Roosevelt took control towards the end of the period. The fourth quarter was tightly contested, with both teams exchanging leads. Luka Malinka's four-point play extended Roosevelt's advantage, but Wayne State fought back to tie the game at 62-62 with under two minutes remaining. Shea Tripp led Wayne State with a career-high 29 points and eight rebounds. Taylor Thompson recorded a double-double with ten points and thirteen rebounds. Alyssa Leister contributed seven assists and four steals.
For Roosevelt, Luka Malinka scored fifteen points while Marie Outlay added thirteen points along with nine steals and seven rebounds.
Wayne State will continue their season on Thursday against Grand Valley State followed by a game at Davenport on Saturday.
