The Wayne State University men's swimming and diving team has advanced several athletes to the final night of the 2025 GLIAC Championships. Seven swimmers have qualified, with five in the championship final and two in the consolation final. Additionally, all three divers from the team will compete.
In the 100 free category, Tomas Osiro secured fifth place with a time of 44.39 seconds, meeting the NCAA B Cut standard. Leland Curanovic placed twelfth with a time of 45.22 seconds, also achieving an NCAA B Cut. Other participants included Josh Mahaney at tied-42nd place and Ryan Kruger as an exhibition swimmer.
For the 200 back event, Gabriel Arias achieved third place with a time of 1:45.60, followed by Lorenzo Tassinari in fourth place at 1:47.31 and Olin Charnstrom in fifth at 1:47.32; all met NCAA B Cut standards.
In the 200 breast competition, Clayton Kinnard finished third with a time of 1:59.98 (NCAA B Cut), while Alex Duhaime took tenth place.
Three swimmers will participate in this evening's timed final for the 1650 free as top eight seeds: Nicholas Slater placed eighth among non-top eight competitors with a time of 16:21.86, and Khalil Ben Ajmia came eleventh among non-top eight.
Harrison Arnold, William Debroux, and Trevor Jones are set to swim this evening as well.
In diving events on the one-meter board, Julio Osuna ranked first with a score of 504.15 points; Max Wasiniak was third with a score of 457.90 points; John Martin took eighth place scoring 419.40 points.
