Two members of the Wayne State University women's basketball team have been recognized with All-GLIAC honors, as announced by the league office. Senior forward Shea Tripp from Jackson, Michigan, was named to the All-GLIAC First Team. Junior forward Taylor Thompson from Grand Blanc, Michigan, received All-GLIAC Second Team honors and was also included in the GLIAC All-Defensive Team.

This marks the second consecutive season that Tripp has been selected for the All-GLIAC First Team. Throughout the 20-game league schedule, where Wayne State University (WSU) achieved a 13-7 record and tied for third place, Tripp ranked among the top 10 in ten different statistical categories.

Tripp's notable rankings include third in assists with 80 at an average of 4.0 per game and fifth in assist/turnover ratio at 1.4. She placed sixth in field goals made with 110 and rebounds totaling 148 at an average of 7.4 per game. Her field goal percentage stood at .485 (110-of-227), ranking her sixth as well. She also secured seventh place in scoring with an average of 14.2 points per game.

In addition to these achievements, Tripp ranked eighth in defensive rebounds (111), free throw percentage (.725), and steals (43). She was tenth in free throws made with a total of 50.

Thompson led the GLIAC in offensive rebounds during league play with a total of 61 and ranked third overall in total rebounds (159) and rebounding average (8.0). Her other rankings include tenth place in defensive rebounds (98) and thirteenth place for free throws made (40).

Wayne State will carry a record of 19 wins against ten losses into their upcoming GLIAC semifinal match against Grand Valley State, which holds a record of 30 wins to two losses overall. The NCAA Regional Advisory Committee recently ranked WSU sixth in the Midwest Region.

The tournament winners from GLIAC, GLVC, and G-MAC conferences along with five additional teams will be announced on Sunday evening during a selection show on NCAA.com to compete in the NCAA Tournament scheduled for March 14th to March 17th.
