Wayne State University baseball team falls to Wayne State College at RussMatt Invitational

Playing in the RussMatt Invitational, Wayne State University baseball team was defeated by Wayne State College with a score of 11-1. The game took place on Monday afternoon in Winter Haven, Florida. This result leaves Wayne State University with an overall record of 6-7, while Wayne State College improves to 4-8.

The scoring for Wayne State College included four runs in the fifth inning and three in the eighth. They also scored one run each in the second, third, sixth, and seventh innings. Wayne State University's only run came during the sixth inning when Owen Tuccinardi hit a single that allowed Drew Hill to score.

Robert Klann started as pitcher for Wayne State University and took the loss after pitching three innings. He allowed two earned runs on three hits, with one walk and three strikeouts, resulting in his record falling to 0-2. Relief pitchers Will DeMasse, Carson Tehan, TJ McAllister, Caleb Sanders, and Oscar Pace also participated from the bullpen.
