Six athletes from Wayne State University's men's swimming and diving team participated in the NCAA Championships on Thursday, marking the second day of preliminary events.
In the 400 IM event, Gabriel Arias and Clayton Kinnard advanced to the consolation final with times of 3:55.85 and 3:55.86, respectively. Trevor Jones did not advance, finishing with a time of 3:56.58.
In the one-meter dive, Julio Osuna secured a spot in the championship final by placing second with a score of 510.90. Max Wasiniak also advanced to the championship final with an eighth-place finish and a score of 461.45. John Martin progressed to the consolation final after scoring 435.25 for a thirteenth-place finish.
The finals on Thursday night will feature Wayne State's men's team competing in several events. The men's 400 IM is scheduled as the fourth event before moving on to the one-meter dive as the seventh event in order. Additionally, Wayne State will participate in the 400 medley relay, which is set as the last event of the evening. The Warriors have a seed time of 3:12.84, ranking them thirteenth among sixteen teams.
