The Wayne State University women's golf team holds third place after the initial 18 holes at the Ohio Dominican NC4K Classic in Grove City, Ohio. Competing at Pinnacle Golf Club, the team registered a score of 309, putting them 21 strokes over par. Players Claudia Portillo and Ting-Yu Kuo led Wayne State's efforts, both tying for seventh place individually with a score of 76.
In individual scores, Sophia Wygonik secured the ninth position with a 77, while Sabel Imesch and Orianna Bylsma were placed 26th and 56th, scoring 80 and 86, respectively.
Currently, Grand Valley State tops the team standings with a 304, followed by Ferris State at 307. Wayne State stands third, followed by Ashland and Saginaw Valley State, completing the top five teams. The tournament continues with 36 holes scheduled for Tuesday at 11 a.m.
