Wayne State University's men's tennis team has been featured in the first NCAA Midwest Regional Poll for the season. The poll includes Wayne State alongside four other institutions from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), namely Davenport University, Ferris State University, Grand Valley State University, and Purdue University Northwest.

The regional tournament will select eight teams, distributing spots as three automatic bids for the winners of the GLIAC, G-MAC, and GLVC conference tournaments, while the remaining five slots will be filled through at-large selections.

The initial poll does not rank teams in a specific order but lists them alphabetically as follows: Wayne State, Davenport, Drury, Ferris State, Grand Valley State, Missouri-St. Louis, Purdue Northwest, Rockhurst, Tiffin, and UIndy.

Concurrently, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has released its latest national rankings. Wayne State's team stands at No. 23. Individual player Cedric Drenth from Sulzbach, Germany, is ranked 32nd in singles, while the doubles team of Drenth and George Day from Southampton, United Kingdom, also holds the 32nd spot.

Looking ahead, Wayne State's men's tennis team will compete in their last regular-season match against Ferris State University at home on Friday, April 18.
