Anais Ruyssen of Wayne State University's women's tennis team has been awarded the GLIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week title for the first time this season and the fourth time in her career. Originally from Nantes, France, Ruyssen played a significant role in Wayne State's 7-0 victory over Ferris State University. This win secured the team's perfect 8-0 record in conference play and ensured the GLIAC regular season title.

In doubles, she teamed up with Dea Gorgidze and emerged victorious with a 6-4 result in their No. 1 spot against the Ferris State pairing.

The Wayne State women's tennis team is set to compete in the second round of the GLIAC Tournament on April 26. The team, finishing first in the regular season with an 8-0 record, will face off against the winner of the upcoming match between Saginaw Valley State University and Lake Superior State University.
