Wayne State University's Cedric Drenth has been named the GLIAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the third time this season, marking the seventh time in his career he has received this honor. The announcement came from the league office and highlights Drenth's contributions to the Wayne State men's tennis team's recent success.

Drenth, a senior from Sulzbach, Germany, played a crucial role in Wayne State's 5-2 victory over Ferris State University in their final match of the regular season. He secured a victory in his singles match with scores of 7-5, 7-5 at the No. 1 position, thereby setting a record at Wayne State University for the most singles matches won, accumulating a total of 105 wins. In doubles competition, Drenth partnered with Tom Wasner, and together they defeated their opponents from Ferris State with a score of 6-2.

Looking ahead, Drenth and the Wayne State men's tennis team are set to compete in the second round of the GLIAC Tournament on April 26. After receiving a bye in the opening round, they are scheduled to face the victor of the match between Ferris State University and Lake Superior State University.
