Wayne State set to host Parkside in final regular season baseball series

The Wayne State University baseball team is preparing to host Parkside in the final games of the 2025 regular season. The four-game series will start on Friday at 3 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m., and will conclude with the Senior Day game on Sunday at 1 p.m.

In their previous match, Wayne State secured a victory against Purdue Northwest with a score of 14-4. The team scored in multiple innings, with Drew Hill, Caleb Sanders, Aidan Arbogast, and Mason McGuire among those who contributed with multiple hits. Key performers included Reagan Paulina and Jacoby Dale, who both hit home runs. Pitchers Miles Jamieson, Will DeMasse, Braylon Laroo, and Ethan Getting contributed to the win, each handling different innings effectively.

Parkside, under head coach Zac Charbonneau, has seen a resurgence in their performance, achieving 28 wins this season. The team's batting average of .320 is top in the league, though their ERA of 6.03 ranks fifth out of seven. Key players include Owen Brock, Peter Fusek, and Dylan Sayles, who have been leading in batting averages and other statistical categories.

Pitcher Noah Gerritson stands out for Parkside with a 4.05 ERA, and he shares the team lead in victories with Sam Mommer. Parkside has proven to be a strong competitor on the road with a 15-5 away record, heading into this crucial series against Wayne State.
